Online Studies

We have several online options available

Online Riding Academy

The team at Blue River is developing online lessons and clinics as a legacy for the Foundation for the Equestrian Arts.

Teaching this material for decades, we’ve assembled a very powerful method for developing a student as a classical rider. And for nearly 10 years we’ve been teaching online as well. In lessons over the internet Mary Anne Campbell teams up with her old mentor Craig Stevens, or with past students who’ve now got their credentials in many of the offerings. We have created an on-line academy that we hope will live well beyond our active teaching lives.

There are several levels of involvement available, from simply learning something new about training in pre-recorded lectures, videos or readings, to semi-private or group seminars and lessons, to private one-on-one online studies focusing on your own particular horse and your skills as a rider.

See the list below to explore some of our online archives, the library of saved material that you can access at home.

online courses For the new rider

Colors: what color is your horse? Basic Black and Simple White? Two of the least common colors! Learn about the colors of horses, what they’re called (in the western US) and what that ‘means’.

Breeds: What is a ‘breed’? All over the world there are different common breeds that might be well known in one area, and unheard of in another. This course is an overview to help a rider make sense of breeds, why they are, what kinds of breeds they’ll see, and a few common to the Pacific Northwest – and a few that we may not be so familiar with.
